Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Cook Manager to effectively manage the catering operations at Antingham and Southrepps School, including the management of kitchen staff through inspiration, training and encouragement.

You will need to be a strong leader who can provide inspiration to others, be creative and be able to demonstrate a strong focus on customer care.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain an effective working relationship with the school’s business managers/partners.

  • Plan menu’s within the approved Norse Commercial Services and client guidelines

  • Manage the preparation, production, packaging and labelling of an extensive daily ‘Grab and Go’ range.

  • Present and serve a daily selection of hot meals.

  • Manage all food and non-food stocks, ensuring compliance with the Norse Commercial Services procurement chain.

  • Responsibility for stock control ensuring minimal wastage, portion control and good stock rotation.

  • Allocation of duties to your team, monitor and manage their performance.

  • Effective “on the job” staff training, leading from the front with creativeness and flare.

  • Ensuring the team are sufficiently multi skilled, to allow the unit to run effectively during periods of staff absence.

  • To monitor the unit’s operating budgets and identify where adjustments need to be made. 

The successful applicant will have previous experience in a similar role and ideally possess a catering qualification.
