The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director for cleaning you will be given significant freedom and support to develop building cleaning services within the business. This unique role will require you to support current contracts while growing the business via successful tendering for commercial work.

This is a senior post within the businesses, and is expected to provide you with the opportunity to develop your career further within the company.     

Responsibilities

  • Provide inspirational leadership that stretches and develops your operational reports.

  • Maintain excellent relationships with partners/customers delivering on a wide range of challenges, always ensuring that priorities/objectives are properly balanced/understood.

  • Be accountable for understanding and delivering profitability on accurate financial budgets.

  • Continually review services to deliver better value for money, efficiency, customer satisfaction and profitability, despite the challenge of shrinking public sector budgets.

  • Fully participate in business growth, working with the local Business Development Manager and Commercial Director on a range of opportunities.

  • Proactively manage risk, projects and performance indicators across the business.

  • Understand and enforce effective statutory compliance and staff training.

  • Operate to existing ISO Quality, H&S and Environmental systems standards.

  • Actively contribute to the strategic direction of the business as part of the senior management team.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate motivational leadership qualities that will push the business to continue to improve. As well as being ambitious personally, you will be passionate about developing others’ careers and supporting all areas within the business.

Of course, you will have proven Senior FM Management experience, which preferably includes building cleaning services and you will likely be able to back this up with supporting qualifications/accreditations to professional bodies. Whilst it is unlikely you will have worked in a joint venture, public sector partnership arrangement before, you will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of this model of service delivery.

You will be comfortable managing a range of multi-site contracts, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors, having highly developed organisational skills to do this. You will understand the cost-benefits of IT systems and be a competent report writer and presenter. You will bring a track record of being able to influence and negotiate strong business relationships with customers, partners and all other stakeholders.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience within a Senior FM Management role

  • Highly motivated

  • Strong Networking skills

  • Articulate communicator able to influence others and comfortable liaising with decision makers at all levels

  • Flexible approach to suit the needs of the role

  • Team player

  • Able to display a logical thought process

  • IT literate including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. 

  • Valid driving licence with access to own vehicle
